About Alpacas

The alpaca was a cherished treasure of ancient Incan civilization and played a central role in the Incan culture located on the high Andean Plateau and mountains of South America, which is their natural habitat.

In 1984, the first alpacas were imported into the United States, and are now being successfully raised and bred to produce one of the world’s finest and most luxurious natural fibers.

Alpacas come in 22 different colors which make them unique, but add to that their gentle nature, tranquil temperament, and gentle, calming humming sounds, and very few people can resist them.

In the USA, Ohio boasts the largest number of alpaca farms and also the most alpacas.
